How to Cope with Change

Life is cyclical. Esoterically, there exists the Law of Cycles which is tied in with the Law of Change. According to the Law of Cycle, Everything is subject to change. Nothing lasts forever. This is in accordance with the laws of nature, which strive to maintain balance.

By that logic, when things are subject to change, it implies that our fortunes will sometimes improve and sometimes deteriorate. The same will happen for our health, relationships and work. Therefore, we must take note of when we are in the upward cycle and when we are in the downward cycle.

“Life is governed by cycles, by change. Sometimes you are up, sometimes you are down.  The trend may be going upward or downward, but you can govern the future by using the Law of Cycles.” Master Choa Kok Sui

So how can we utilize this law to cope with change?

 Understand that nothing is permanent!

Master Choa Kok Sui said, “According to Law of Cycle, Everything is subject to change. Nothing lasts forever.”

This means that the bad times will not stay. All the present difficulties and complications we are going through will be over, and the good times will begin soon after. Of course, those good times will last for a while and then the situation will again change. What’s important is to make sure that steps and measures are taken when things are good so that the situation can be managed properly when things are less good.

This understanding itself, help up to detach from possessions and titles, because we know that nothing lasts forever.

Learn to stay detached!

This brings us to detachment. If neither bad times nor good times are permanent, then it’s important to cultivate a sense of detachment. Does this mean we will become nihilistic and stop enjoying life? Of course not.

It means, “Life is a series of attachment and de-attachment, a series of holding and releasing.” Master Choa Kok Sui. To this end, we must cultivate an attitude of detachment. Remember that we are spiritual beings, remembering that we are the soul and doing the soul affirmation is an excellent way of cultivating detachment, while still enjoying life fully.

The I AM Affirmation is one of the simple techniques to help us detach. It helps to remind us that we are not our body, thoughts and emotions and therefore deal with the change easier.

Generate good karma!

Most people worry because they do not know what the future holds in store for them. But for those on the spiritual path, they know it’s easier to create their future than to try to predict it.

When someone is enjoying a cycle of prosperity and success, they should try to generate as much good karma as possible. This can be done through service, tithing and charity. So when the inevitable downward cycle happens, then they can utilize the positive karma they had generated before to get out of the low situation as easily and quickly as possible.

It must be noted that we should try to minimize creating negative karma as much as possible. How? By having wholesome thoughts. By refraining from injurious thoughts, words and actions, so that the Law of Karma can be utilized in the best possible manner.

“To know and to utilize the Law of Karma is to control your future.” Master Choa Kok Sui

Budget and save!

There are a lot of people who are dependent on their jobs as their only source of income. If they are laid off then their risk of losing everything, including their homes, is quite high.

In Taoist teachings, they say you must save 1/3 of what you earn. If you save 1/3 of what you earn, in 3 years’ time you will have income equivalent to one whole year. Now, if you save for six years, you will have income equivalent to two years. That’s just saving without investing.  Now if you save for 10 years, you will have income equivalent to three years. How can you possibly go hungry? How can you lose your home? It’s impossible.

You must budget and save. A good balance is to donate 10% of your income, save and invest at least 30% and spend the remaining 60% as you wish.

“If you do not Save and Invest, there are fewer channels for your Good Karma to manifest.” Master Choa Kok Sui

Have a sense of humor!

Whether or not we have a better life depends on us. It depends on your attitude and how we look at life.
Life is a training ground. Therefore, being exposed to the vicissitudes of Life is a necessity. It is like not being exposed to germs, which leads to not having a proper immunity and therefore no inner strength. So sometimes to deal with the difficulties easier, we need to have a sense of humor and don’t take everything so serious!

“A Sense of Humor enables you to enjoy Life and to deal with it realistically.” Master Choa Kok Sui
During a crisis, one of the things we can do is to stay calm and think what the worst thing that can happen is. If the possible consequence is of minimal significance, then no need to bother so much.

Focus on solutions!

This is based on the principle of transcendence. They key is to not wallow in rumors, crises or manipulations. The key is to spiritually transcend.

“Do not react or allow yourself to be sucked into the whirlpool of turmoil.” Master Choa Kok Sui

Like quality energy attracts like quality energy. Loving-kindness attracts loving-kindness. Anger and hatred attract anger and hatred. Project and Radiate Loving-Kindness! Be still! Bathe in the waters of Love and Bliss! So instead of focusing on problems, challenges and worries, focus on what needs to be done!

Sometimes to see the bigger picture and have clarity it is crucial to Meditate first, especially when you’re anticipating a crisis! Then think, analyze and formulate a good strategy. Maintain your inner peace, continue with your work. Act carefully and steadily.

Practice Meditation on Twin Hearts!

“When you transform despair into hope, and doubt into faith, you find that even in difficult situations, you are filled with great strength.” Master Choa Kok Sui
